We talked recently about Who (or what) is using your network? - most of us have more than we expect, but it’s not all just smart fridges quietly judging your shopping
Beyond the obvious PC, TV, phone, what connected devices do you find useful?
Robot vacuum that’s practically a member of the family?
Smart bulbs that change the mood of your home, provide security or save energy?
A plug to let you switch the kettle on from under the duvet?
Or is there something you bought on a whim that turns out you can definitely live without?
Re connected devices, I can tell you 2 things that make my blood boil.
My home printer…it feels like it knows instinctively when I actually need it and then it decides to NOT work and disconnects itself.
My washing machine. Why on earth does that want to connect to my network? Do my dirty socks need to check their lottery numbers? Do my husband’s pants want to catch up on the latest international geo-political news? I don’t think so!!!
Absolutely in solidarity with you here @G3000 and @greenwellys - sometimes it feels like the printer is sentient, and just looking for an opportunity to stop you getting something done. And the troubleshooter dialogue solution always seems to be “let’s download some more enormous drivers, you weren’t busy, were you?”…
