📣 Vodathree? – Here’s what you need to know

It’s official: Vodafone and Three have merged to become the UK’s biggest mobile network. Big news, right?

They’re promising better 5G coverage, more investment, and stronger competition—but what does this mean for you?

Will service improve? Will prices go up? Is bigger always better?

:speech_balloon: Have you been with Vodafone or Three? How’s your experience been?

Would you stick around, or are you considering a switch?

My partner’s with Three for mobile, and that seems pretty good! We’ve also just moved into a Three broadband area so will be tempted to give that a go when my contract’s up. Think they have a 30 day ‘trial’ period so that’ll be good just to assess the signal. I’ve been with Voda and they were cheap but the C/S wasn’t great

Vodafone - Three’s combined infrastructure and resources could turbocharge the UK’s 5G rollout and position us as the leader in digital connectivity. Yet, the Competition and Markets Authority worries about weaker rivalry, has ordered them to freeze their two headline tariffs for 3 years, and shield customers from rapid price rises. So, it looks like consumers will be benefiting from the merger, at least in the short term. But regulators, and we at BBG, must stay alert to ensure that greater scale doesn’t come at the expense of choice and fair pricing.

On a personal note, I use Three’s 5G. We have had issues in the last two weeks. When my husband called up, they discovered a larger problem in the area, and said it will be fixed within the next two weeks. Of course, I asked for a discount while the service is not optimal, and they gave it to me without much hassle. Will update on the outcome of it all.
